Africa

This continent owns his name to the Roman senator and commander Scipio Africanus, who had beaten Hannibal in the year 202 B.C. in the battle of Zama which had brought the Second Punic War to an end. In the ancient world only the district of the Roman province, todays Tunisia, has been called Africa.
