Entry requirements
Please make sure that you meet the entry requirements for each port visited during your cruise. Otherwise, embarkation may not be permitted.
German, Austrian and Swiss citizens need a machine-readable passport for visa-free entry into the USA. All travelers to the United States have to complete the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) form. Please register online at: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta.
German citizens require a visa for the following countries. Please contact your embassy before you leave for further information or short term changes.
Citizens of other countries, please contact your respective embassies.
- Australia
The Electronic visa “eVisitor” can be applied for in advance at www.immi.gov.au or together with your flight reservation at your tourist agency.
- Benin
The visa is granted upon arrival and costs about 30 USD.
- Brazil
The visa is granted upon arrival.
- Cambodia
The visa is granted on board.
- Cape Verde
Passengers are in transit, so no visa is required.
- China
The visa is available in advance at the embassy. Passengers who enter the country, then exit and reenter are required to possess a DOUBLE-ENTRY VISA. Passengers who enter China only one time are required to possess a SINGLE-ENTRY VISA.
- Egypt
The visa is granted upon arrival and costs 15 USD. Also available in advance at the embassy.
- Gambia
The visa is granted upon arrival and costs about 12 USD.
- Ghana
The visa is granted upon arrival and costs about 20 USD.
- India
The visa is available in advance at the embassy.
- Indonesia
The visa is granted upon arrival and costs about 10 USD.
- Israel
Only passengers born before Jan 01, 1928 require a visa.
- Jordan
The visa is granted upon arrival and costs about 14 USD.
- Madagascar
The visa is granted on board and costs about 20 USD.
- Mexico
The visa is granted upon arrival.
- Mozambique
The visa is available in advance at the embassy and costs about 20 EUR (transit visa).
- Myanmar
The visa is available in advance at the embassy.
- Russia
The visa is available in advance at the embassy. Participants on a Princess Cruises shore excursion are granted a group visa.
- Sri Lanka
The visa is granted upon arrival.
- Togo
The visa is granted upon arrival (maximum stay 1 week) and costs about 30 USD.
- Vietnam
The visa is granted on board and costs about 20 USD. If you disembark in Vietnam or participate on a shore excursion of several days duration, the costs are 30 USD and an ID picture is required.
Vaccinations
Please check with your doctor or a tropical institute to verify the vaccination regulations for each country visited. For some destinations such as the Panama Canal, the Amazon and the Caribbean, a yellow fever vaccination is required. Please note that in some countries a vaccination proof is required when you apply for your visa.
Age restrictions
Passengers under the age of 21 must be accompanied by passengers 21 years or older. Please note that several countries may have special entry requirements for visitors under the age of 18.
